Well we have started the process of looking for a new plan/builder. There have been a lot of positive reports that Westminster will trade out of trouble, I just can't trust them anymore. I almost feel like a betrayed lover.
I'm such an educated buyer of a home this time - in so many different ways. I understand our block and it's limitations, understand our Council and it's quirks (wall articulation etc), understand our budget meaning I can look at a base price and know if we can afford it.
So we are looking around for that house and builder. It's still going to be what can we build on our block in our budget that suits our needs. But we are another day closer to the dream.

Maybe the process will go a lot faster now belinda, as you now know so much more about what you want & how the build process works, etc.....?

ReplyDeleteGood luck with starting again - I hope that you find the perfect plan/builder and that it works out better than your previous one would have (not sure if that makes sense - hopefully you know what I mean...).
I don't envy you having to go through the whole precess again but as you said, this time you have the benefit of hindsight and a much better idea of what you want, the hidden costs and the processes.
Only this morning, I was walking through a display and found myself thinking "if I were to do this again I would..." My house has just started and already there are things that I would change "if I'd known"...
Thanks guys! Yep hopefully it'll be a much quicker process. The trouble is trying to look at houses/floorplans with 2 x 2 year olds. Mid week when J is at school, the little ones don't let me do much! Ahh well, we will get there.
